Lindener Hafen

From 4 to 6 December 2024, the Leibniz University Hannover will host the Hannover Creative Workshop focused on music and the urban environment of Lindener Hafen. This dynamic workshop will bring together students, creatives, international partners, and local stakeholders to explore the intersection of urban design, music, and community engagement in shaping a new vision for this evolving area. Participants will develop creative installations and mockups inspired by the acoustic and spatial characteristics of Lindener Hafen, rethinking the use of materials and incorporating sustainability and circularity in design. The workshop will unfold over three days, featuring immersive work sessions, on-site exploration, and interactive activities at Lindener Hafen. Participants will observe and engage with the space, working hands-on to craft innovative, music-inspired mockups that reflect the unique rhythms and sounds of the area. Lectures and discussions on urban soundscapes, material innovation, and creative engagement will provide inspiration and insights for their projects. The final day will focus on refining proposals for the international jury and the “awards and feedback event”, showcasing bold, creative solutions for reimagining Lindener Hafen as a vibrant, sustainable urban space. By merging theory, practice, and community involvement, the workshop aims to foster innovative approaches to urban regeneration while emphasizing the cultural and creative potential of music-driven design.
