Albergo dei Poveri

The Albergo dei Poveri opens its doors for the Creative Workshop of the ReCITYing project to be held from 17 to 19 June 2024 in Genoa. The courtyard will become the stage for 19 place-based proof of concepts created by students and creatives for performative space installations. The possibility of interacting with the body of the sleeping giant by staging prototypes or parts of the installations will be an opportunity to activate a direct exchange between young creatives and partners in a creative co-creation open lab. An exhibition will be set up along the corridor connected to the courtyard to show the project work through posters, booklets and studio models. Thanks to the presence of an international jury of experts and a local company of arts, the exhibited works will be evaluated in order to realise the Space Installations in 1:1 scale in the next phase.

The first day of the Workshop will be animated by the Re-talks dialogues where a first phase of reports from partner cities will be followed by a series of interventions by Carlo Sciaccaluga, Lisetta Buccellato and Marc Aureli Santos to conclude with a round table among the participants.Opening the second day will be the ReCITYing meeting followed by the Albergo dei Poveri guided tour of courtyards, inner church, venue of ReCITYing Installation 2025. The afternoon activity will be the Performative parts with creative event: after an initial phase of Collaborative touch-ups and Proof-of Concepts finalization there will be the presentation of prototypes and performances by Unige and Accademia Students with the participation of ReCITYing partners, Unige Tutors, creatives, artists and local stakeholders. The morning of the third day will be dedicated to the selection of project for the Installation and an award ceremony.
